Let’s make a special little girl’s golden birthday extra special!  \n\n\n\nAbout Hannah\n\n\n\nHannah was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer (Telangiectatic Osteosarcoma) in April 2018 and underwent aggressive chemotherapy\, immediately ending this treatment course in December 2018. After two cycles of chemotherapy\, Hannah had limb salvage surgery receiving a donor bone in her tibia.  \n\n\n\nIn October 2019\, Hannah needed surgery due to her donor bone breaking. This surgery resulted in complications sending her into emergency surgery and an overnight stay in the ICU. A short time after this surgery\, she developed an infection of her hardware and bone\, therefore needing a PICC line placed. Hannah received IV antibiotics until she developed complications from the PICC line and was switched to oral antibiotics to keep the infection at bay while she healed from surgery.  \n\n\n\nBy fall 2020\, Hannah had finished nine months of oral antibiotic treatment. Due to her infection\, she had a bone that melted away in her leg\, which required another bone graft. By winter 2020\, she was beginning to have pain in her leg again. After a wait-and-see approach\, we ventured to Madison for multiple tests to figure out what the best treatment plan would be for Hannah.  \n\n\n\nIn spring 2021\, we had decided as a team that amputation would be the best treatment with the hope to keep her out of the hospital longer so she could enjoy her childhood. In June 2021\, Hannah had her surgery and has healed beautifully! She recently got her prostheses and is over the moon excited! It’s been a very long road or over three years of continued treatment since her initial diagnosis and she is the most resilient and fun little girl.  \n\n\n\nHannah Our Hero!

DESCRIPTION:Veterans and community members are welcome and encouraged to join the Fennimore American Legion Post 184 for a re-dedication ceremony of Memorial Drive on Saturday\, August 28\, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.  \n\n\n\nOn May 1\, 1969\, the Fennimore City Council approved designating 12th Street as Memorial Drive in honor of Fennimore residents Francis Mulvey\, Allen Novinska\, and Donald Smith\, as well as all of Fennimore’s war heroes\, past and present. Mulvey\, Novinska\, and Smith lived on the same street in Fennimore and lost their lives within eight months of each other while serving in the Vietnam War. The original signage has since aged and weathered. The new updated signage will be unveiled during the re-dedication ceremony and will include the names of the three individuals being honored.  \n\n\n\nThe ceremony will be located near the southeast corner of the junction of Lincoln Avenue and 12th Street (in front of Casey’s General Store) and will feature a full service with the rifle team and honor guard. Attendees are asked to park on side streets and avoid parking in the Casey’s parking lot.

DESCRIPTION:The Blue Star Drum and Bugle Corps\, a world class group of 168 musicians\, are using Fennimore High School from August 2 – 6  as their home base for area shows and rehearsal times.  \n\n\n\nTheir schedule of shows and rehearsals include: \n\n\n\nAugust 2 – Rehearsal day in Fennimore  \n\n\n\nAugust 3 – Rehearsal day in Fennimore \n\n\n\nAugust 4 – Rehearsal day in Fennimore with a free public performance at 7:00 p.m. \n\n\n\nAugust 5 – Show in Rochester \n\n\n\nAugust 6 – Leave Fennimore \n\n\n\nAll rehearsal are open to the public with the best viewing times from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as this is schedule for the full ensemble time. Rehearsals during the day are more segmented\, but still fun to watch. There will also be some morning and maybe early afternoon rehearsal times on their show day schedules.
