An ad with list of participating locations was published online and in the May 13 Reminder and May 16 Times. Garage sale maps will be available one week in advance at convenience stores, banks and Carr Valley Cheese. We thank Casey’s General Store for being the official sponsor the garage sale maps.

The City clerk’s office and chamber encourages all sale locations to be part of the official map. Your funds are used to promote the city outside of the area to bring additional shoppers to the community. Sale sites are reminded to turn your yard sign back to the City Clerk’s office or Fennimore Depot Exchange by May 29 to receive your $3 refund on your sign deposit.

Fennimore American Legion Sponsors Spaghetti Supper

Mark your calendar and make plans to attend the Annual Legion Spaghetti Supper on Thursday, May 9. The all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper will be served in the Legion Annex from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door. Lincoln Avenue Flower Planting

The Fennimore Area Chamber of Commerce will once again sponsor the flowers for Main Street planters. The tentative date to plant this year’s flowers are Thursday, May 16 starting at 3 p.m. and continuing until flowers are planted and watered.

FACC is currently recruiting volunteers to help with the planting. We are also seeking volunteers to adopt a planter(s) for the 2019 season. FACC will supply the fertilizer; volunteers would be responsible to take care of the watering of the flowers for the season. Please contact me if you are able to help. Thank you in advance for helping to make Lincoln Avenue full of beautiful flower planters throughout our community.

Nation of Patriots

Nation of Patriots and Memorial Day
Nation of Patriots Tour and Memorial Day poster

The Nation of Patriots Tour is coming to Fennimore! We invite you to join us in Fennimore on Saturday, May 18 at approximately 1:30 p.m. as the Nation of Patriots Tour travels Hwy 18 east into Fennimore. We encourage Fennimore area residents to line the streets along Hwy 18 east right up 12th Street and Lincoln Avenue. Bring out your American Flags to wave as the tour goes through town.

This year the transfer of the flags will be held in the Fennimore Veteran’s Memorial, corner of 8th Street and Lincoln Avenue. 8th Street will be closed for the parking of the motorcycles as well as the Fennimore Elementary School parking lot.

Once the Saturday celebration is finished, we encourage everyone to visit other Fennimore businesses for food, beverages and entertainment.

American Flag Sponsors Encouraged

As part of the decorating contest, we hope to increase the number of American Flags flying along Lincoln Avenue and other key areas. The City / Chamber is seeking donations toward the purchase of the American Flags, as well as other decorations, used to welcome not only the Nation of Patriots but all of the visitors passing through Fennimore in 2019.

All flags will be purchased from the Fennimore American Legion which uses points to provide awards to students at Fennimore Schools. All flags are high quality and are American made.

You can sponsor a flag for just $20 donation. Checks should be made payable to The City of Fennimore, 860 Lincoln Avenue, Fennimore, WI 53809. All donors will be recognized on www.fennimore.com and on the bulletin board at the Memorial building. Thanks to everyone who helped decorate the community as part of our warm Fennimore welcome to the NOPT.
