To ensure suggested social distancing limits, we will limit pool patrons to 75. No fee admission, non-swimming, visitors limited to 25 for a total capacity of 100. *non-swimming “street clothed” visitors must be chaperoning swimming patrons. We will have a sign that will allow pool staff to display the current number of pool patrons.

Entry through the bath house as normal. Limit bath house usage for essential purposes only. No congregating inside of the bath house. Exit only through the west gate.

In order to control attendance and provide fair access to the taxpayers who fund the pool, we will limit patrons to City of Fennimore taxpayers and households who were enrolled in Fennimore Schools for the 2019-2020 and/or will be enrolled for the 2020/2021 school year(s).

In addition to lifeguards on duty, there will be a dedicated staff member who will ensure Covid-19 rules are followed as well as monitoring and performing the additional cleaning and disinfecting.

No concessions to be offered however, vending machines will be on site. Patrons may bring their own food/beverage. No glass containers will continue to be enforced.

If possible, we will turn-off the drinking spout of the water fountain and only allow the touchless bottle filling station portion to be used. If the bottle filling station cannot be isolated, the entire water fountain will be turned off, due to CDC recommendations.

Patrons may choose to wear masks while on premises, but they will not be allowed while in the pool due to risks associated with wet masks.

No city owned pool chairs will be available for use, patrons may bring their own chairs and must leave with them when they exit the pool. Some picnic tables will be available in both pavilions and will be cleaned after each use. All chairs and extra tables not in use will be kept in the south-west corner of the pool and roped off.

A release of liability and refund policy will be signed for all pool pass purchases.

To ensure understanding and adherence to additional guidelines the 2020 season suggested ages (staff may adjust in an induvial basis as needed to ensure compliance):

12+ allowed unchaperoned
Under 12 must be accompanied by 15+
6 and under by an adult

Pool hours modified to Noon – 6PM daily. Noon-1PM will be the new adults only open swim/water aerobics. Previously, this was earlier in the morning which could be accommodated because we were staffed due to summer school swimming lessons. Since that program cannot be offered this summer, the timeframe needs to be modified to provide a continuous staff presence.

Additional signage

  • 6-foot markings on the fence to illustrate suggested distancing
  • Max attendance and local only restrictions
  • Suggestions on who should not enter, i.e. you feel ill, fever, cough, traveled, etc.
  • A frame sign for the front entrance to show if the pool is at capacity or open for more admissions
