The continuing mission of Fennimore Area Health Services, Ltd., “to eliminate sickness and disease, educate the community and improve the health and well-being of the community,” is carried out in a wide variety of actions and deeds including donations, scholarships, equipment and device purchases, pharmacy rental property, as well as providing public service information.

The FAHS mission started in 1983. The impetus behind its creation was to build a medical/dental clinic and recruit a physician and dentist to the community. A community-wide fund drive was held and in less than two months through private donations from individuals and businesses, enough money was raised. The Plattner Clinic was the result. Today, medical and dental practices still provide services at the clinic.
