The Fennimore Community Scholarship Foundation has been granting scholarships to the graduates of Fennimore High School since 1987. The purpose of the Fennimore Community Scholarship Foundation is to raise money to establish a permanent endowment fund so aid can be given to deserving students to continue their education.
The senior class receives applications for scholarships in January. The applications must be submitted by March 1. The foundation hopes all seniors who are planning to continue their formal education beyond high school will apply.
See the Fennimore Community Scholarship Foundation website for application forms and criteria information.
The foundation’s assets are growing steadily through interest income, memorials, bequests and donations. The foundation’s by-laws restrict the money allocated for scholarships to a percentage of income earned from its accounts. Every spring as graduation approaches, the board members determine how many awards can be given.
Gifts received by the foundation are placed in the general fund. Donor-designated scholarships continue to be honored. The board has established certain criteria for accepting new gifts for the donor-designated status for distribution through the foundation.
The Fennimore community continues to provide strong support through memberships, donations, memorials and bequests. Donations are fully deductible for those who itemize on their tax return, as the foundation is a tax-exempt entity under the IRS regulations. Donations may be sent to Foundation Treasurer Heidi Schwantes, 4265 Kingsford Road, Lancaster, WI 53813
All gifts are greatly appreciated. The foundation hopes that continued support will be an investment in the dreams and aspirations of our community’s youth. Please consider a donation to the Fennimore Community Scholarship Foundation!
