The Fennimore Chamber of Commerce is often contacted by dependents of previous Fennimore residents to learn more about their ancestors. A few suggestions to assist in your search to find information about your ancestors include:

  • Your Family Bible
  • Census records
  • Marriage Records
  • Land records/ deeds
  • Tax Records
  • Citizenship/Naturalization

  • Newspaper Articles
  • Probate/ Wills
  • Obituaries

The spelling is very poor on some of these records. Sometimes a close spelling will be a relative. Even a small bit of information will give you a start.
