Fennimore Area Foundation Grant Application

The purpose of the Fennimore Area Foundation is to enrich the quality of life in the Fennimore area through funding projects and organizations.

The Fennimore Area Foundation is interested in providing assistance to groups, projects or activities promoting community wellness, services to or facilities for Fennimore area children, or other endeavors falling within its charitable mission. Total funds to be granted will be up to $5,000 to one recipient or divided among any number of recipients.

The Fennimore Area Foundation will not fund the following:

  • Individual travel expenses or seminars
  • Salaries, wages, benefits or other employee related costs
  • Recurring expenses, except “start-up costs”
  • Operating expenses including staff, rent payments, lease payments, and utilities
  • Participation in capital campaigns or endowment funds
  • Political causes, candidates and lobbying efforts
  • Individuals, including scholarships and personal benefits
  • Debt incurred or purchases made prior to grant award notification.

Because the Foundation is a non-profit organization, grant awards must follow certain guidelines and grants may only be awarded to qualifying non-profit organizations. Applicants receiving awards will be expected to submit a brief report or summary of the completed or on-going project or activity receiving a grant within six months of its receipt. The Foundation sees part of its purpose being an incubator of community-wide participation in making Fennimore a better place to live, work and play. When ideas or visions focused on this goal require nurturing, the Foundation sees itself as a source for assistance to the extent it can assist.

Past Projects

New Community Swimming Pool Project

The Fennimore Area Foundation managed donations for the Fennimore Community Swimming Pool and is grateful to those that contributed to making this project a reality for our community.

Fennimore High School Drama Department

“The grant we received helped to replenish our set and costume stockpiles so plays for many years to come will be better products.”

Marsden Park Board

“We used our grant money to repair picnic tables. They get a lot of use each year and having them in good repair is a benefit for everyone who uses the park.”

Dwight D. Parker Library

“Because of the grant the Library was able to improve and extend our large print collection.”

Fennimore Fun Fest Committee

“A big thank you to the FAF for the grant to help us buy tents. With additional tents, we are able to provide more entertainment choices for the people of Fennimore.”

Fennimore High School Yoga Club

“Thanks to the Fennimore Area Foundation grant money, I’ve been able to teach between 5 – 45 staff/students yoga and mindfulness each week.”
