Sunday Sept 27 Activities from 10 am – 3 pm
Many Outdoor Activities Scheduled
Sunday, September 27 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. the day’s activities include Heritage Day at the Railroad Museum and the Fennimore FFA Alumni Tractor and Equipment Showcase held in the parking lot south of Subway.
Heritage Days
At the Fennimore Railroad Museum there will be a display of “Hit and Miss” engines, classic car show, fried cheese curds, ice cream, kettle corn and popular rides for youth on the miniature train. At noon the Hole in the Sock gang is expected to be on hand for a train robbery. The museum will be open for open for tours but will be limited to small groups at a time. The Railroad board asks everyone to please wear masks and recommends everyone practice social distancing. A free will offering is appreciated and is used to help with maintenance and upkeep of the Museum.
FFA Alumni Farm Showcase
Just across the street the Fennimore FFA Alumni will host their Farm Tractor and Equipment Showcase where tractors old and new will be on display until 3:30 p.m. At 3:30 many of the tractors will leave on a tractor ride passing by Divine Nursing and Rehab for residents to enjoy and reminisce of days gone by.
The showcase is generally held during the Fennimore Jr Fair which was postponed this year. Adam Jackson felt this would be a great opportunity to incorporate this popular event with Heritage Day. Farmers and equipment owners have an extra incentive to bring in their tractors and equipment as many prizes are offered.
The Farm Showcase is offering cash prizes for their showcase as follows: First prize $300, Second prize $200, Third prize $150, Fourth prize $100 and Fifth prize $50. New this year is a $100 prize for the tractor/equipment in the family the longest! For more details contact Adam Jackson 608-778-7820.
